History

Vocational School of Health Services was established in accordance with Articles 7/d-2 and 7/h of Law No. 2547 amended by Law No. 2880, taking into account the decision of the Higher Education Executive Board dated 15.04.2009. In the 2010-2011 academic year, the Elderly Care Program started to operate. Our program, which started education with 25 students in the year of establishment, continues education and training with 177 students as of 2024.  Elderly Care Program is located under the Department of Health Care Services.

The aim of the program is to protect and maintain the health of elderly individuals, to organize social activities and to take an active role in the care of elderly individuals in case of illness. At the same time, it trains elderly care technicians who will take an active role in increasing the quality of life of the individuals they care for by assuming a bridge role in ensuring communication with the members of the health team, following the developments related to their field and applying them within their duties.
